ABOUT ME

My wife, Terrie, and I live in Pacific City and thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle afforded by this small coastal community.  Our enjoyment is never more evident than when our grandchildren, Declan (11) and Tamsin (9) are here for a visit.  The riches of Tillamook County are abundant and this is quite evident in the ways they have shaped its people and traditions.  This shows in the warmth and friendliness of people in Tillamook County and in the feeling of community that we find so inviting.

Upon graduating from Calif. State University, Fresno with a BA in Psychology, I spent 20+ years in the forest products industry culminating as general/sales manager for two wood pressure treating facilities specializing in utility poles and highway wood.  After moving to Oregon 25 years ago, I found it possible to make a real difference by volunteering my time in Tillamook County, while also managing a successful 20+ year career as a long-term care specialist and more recently as a real estate broker before my election to Commissioner in November 2016.

I found that my organizational and problem solving skills, along with my collaborative approach were very useful in the many volunteer opportunities that were offered in Tillamook County.  I have a real willingness to listen to all sides of an issue and the ability to offer a fresh perspective.  I feel it is very important to give back to the community that has offered so much to Terrie and me.
